<center><i>17 Drakonis, 9:19</i></center><p>
It is in a rise of anger that the elven boy is cast out this day. Those aggressive tones chasing after him, commanding to find use elsewhere for a time but with warning not to stray far from the estate’s reach. Less one wished to suffer the consequences of disobedience. Though false freedoms such as this were never meant to last, he knew this. For in time a master would seek him out whenever that mind did cool or at least send another to locate a lost pet. A silent promise of a hunt made the moment those bare feet stumbled from the door way. Another would track him down if a dog did not return of its own accord.
<p>
Yet it is because of those very same phrases that call at his back that the marked creature finds himself beneath the warmth of the sun. Allowed to wander the streets of Minrathous fairly unchecked for a time. Thought which only spurs paces to quicken and carry the young elf ever further from the manor despite instruction given. There would be a moment given to return but for now he only wished to get away from it and those that dwelled within. Breath stutters as a hand rises to brush against the various cuts which stretched over his features before pressing down in efforts to wipe it away.
<p>
Though it comes with little success as fingers merely smear those crimson tones over skin left untouched. But fleeting moments of those wounds laying clear before they are filled once more in the steady trickle which seized them. Those now painted digits finding his lips in an effort to do away with what could be hidden, refusal to place it against clothing in fear of further coming to mark a hide should one returned sullied. Other than the sprouting fears that brewed within the elf there was no true thought of what exactly he would do now besides shift as far as he dared from Danarius’ estate.
<p>
Attentions flickering briefly toward any other who wandered the smooth paths this day though they are never kept in focus for too long as pale gaze turns away nearly as soon as it had landed upon them. A rather poor effort made to act as if he belonged here. Yet even if it had been attempted there was certainty that one would not accept the wandering elf as anything more than he was, property of the magister he dwelled with. Focus eventually turns to mimicking the behaviors not reprimanded for, as eyes take to laying low against the earth even as a young mind screams to look about. For this was a place far different than the wilds of Seheron and the towering buildings of their own unique structure brought forth an interest within the boy.
<p>
Some lay adorned in various décor, showcasing what rest within. Though even the more fanciful do not pull him to investigate nor does he allow curiosities to surface into question toward those passed by. Many pausing to give an odd remark or simple grimace before going on their way. While others paid no regard to the young slave, and it was they he preferred those who did not pay mind to a stray. But no matter the natures of those around him, nothing could truly stop those eyes from wandering when one could resist no longer. Gaze eventually rising to fall upon all which sprung up around him in this foreign city. Far less focus placed upon those who traversed nearby than he intended.

<center><i>21 Justinian, 9:41</i></center><p>
A trip taken at the pirate’s side had proven far more eventful than either had truly bargained for at the start of such a journey, for claims had fallen over a quick return. And yet it was an endeavor stalled when the beasts which came to dwell within those mountains held different plans for the pair. Such task dragged out past the welcome the branded elf was willing to give with the presence of the demon invested tree. Sylvan an uncommon enemy to the warrior though he supposed it shouldn’t be much of a surprise that they walked even here now as rifts allowed so many creatures to escape into this world.
<p>
But despite the damages inflicted Fenris remained unsure on if that gnarled beast had been taken care of in the end. Though it was an adventure sending them on another trip to those seen but moments before. Everett taking to one not seen before as the very same decided to treat the marked elf. Those less foreign hands working diligently with more respect to previous wishes than before. For the healer was certain to hover rather than attempt to close any distance between them, never touching the injured with anything more than magic.
<p>
No rush or pressure felt this visit without the rogue’s insistence and the nerves which had risen then were long since faded. Focus more easily found on the task at hand rather than flickering between all within then tent as now it was only they and the Mabari who lay nearby. The hound’s wounds taken care of son after the elf’s own had been sealed. Their leave taken from the man’s presence with murmured thanks as this seemingly unending run of bad luck with the wildlife is attempted to be pushed from thought. Even as it seemed to chase him.
<p>
Yet surely it was all caused by the rifts that split across the skies or perhaps such reasons were found within the lyrium that drove so many mad. But no matter what it may be, the warrior was determined to find some sort of peace away from this stronghold. Anything was better than staying here and doing nothing but menial tasks with those few that remained behind. Thoughts turning toward those that had taken off toward the distant fortress and, perhaps foolishly, steps led him from Skyhold’s embrace once more though this time with non but Hades and a dracolisk at his side.
<p>
For despite the word given to another he was reluctant to stay, so he would not. The paces of the fanged beast carrying him far from the hold of the mountains. Steps halting only when rest was needed, such breaks taken more for the winter marked mount’s sake than the elf’s own. Patience finding him whenever the dracolisk required such delays, though he was sure to remain watchful for tainted wildlife for those silent fears still lingered. Unsure on if the bear had infected any others in its wake. Those that may be lying in wait for an unfortunate passerby but such encounters do not occur, seemingly quiet travels granted to them this journey.
<p>
Camp eventually made once more lying along the borders of the Dales and the flats it filtered into. Fair line of sight kept toward the land whispered to be good hunting grounds though never truly telling of the creatures which resided there. No matter what lay within it it was something to investigate. A task set out on when the sun had barely begun its climb. Hades left behind to guard both camp and mount from any dangers which may approach it as Fenris set off further into the lands. Whispered promises made to the hound that he would return in time to fetch him.
<p>
Wandering steps taking him from the side of beasts as reflective eyes peered over the unknown land. Any rustling or rise of sound pulling attentions to whatever invaded the morning’s silence. Though in sight there had yet to be anything which posed a true threat as birds fluttered from the grasses to the safety of the trees or the occasional august ram fled from a path exposed to it. Curious eyes chasing after each of the creatures before returning to what lay before him. Unsure on what it was he truly searched for out here if not for a safe path through the terrain. Yet distraction was welcomed as focus drifted toward anything else which came about.

<center><i>22 Bloomingtide, 9:41</i></center><p>
As the cloak of night worked to swallow away the remnants of the day it left only the gentle flicker of light to guide the path. That which lay sparked by way of magic or fire, the soft illuminance dancing against all it touched within the fortress’s hold. Catching against the glimmer of reflective eyes whenever attentions drifted as the ghost remained watchful of those who still lingered outside. Those scarce few always seeming to float between their posts on the off chance that another should find this little hide away, whether they be friend or foe. Yet lately they seemed on higher alert with numbers noticeably thinner and not just due to those that retired to their quarters or simply took up residence elsewhere to continue their work out of sight.
<p>
Far less than the usual dispersal with the departure of the Inquisitor and her selected travel companions. Many setting out at her side to traverse outside these walls and to the Western Approach with the champion reluctantly in tow. Dragged along with them as the human gave false assurance of his needed assistance, tones allowed to echo in their ears though the warrior knew of the lies which laced that tongue. Complaints so often finding him regarding those they currently stayed around and he was certain that it was a shared distaste for neither party did much to hide it in expression nor in the voices which rose against each other.
<p>
Though no matter what was said they did not depart from these walls just yet, something apparently keeping the mage’s interest in this place to linger. That man had come here of by his own free will at the request of a supposed friend and certainly he would be allowed to leave of his own accord as well if he truly wished to. But this is not what holds the marked elf’s focus for long as balance is threatened by the very beast he was tasked with looking after during Asmodeus’ travels. The human not wishing to bring the oversized canine along, merely stating that Hades would better serve the elf right now. Yet Fenris did not see what purpose the dog would really hold other than the usual companionship.
<p>
The hand nearest to the creature shifting to brush briefly against those features yet it does not remain for long as steps carried the elf on toward the Herald’s Rest with the Mabari close on his heel. Those heavy footfalls chasing after him for the dog did not hesitate to push his way through the tavern’s door before it could attempt to close behind the warrior. Claws skittering excitedly across the wooden floor to stand nearby once more as the eyes of those within are drawn more toward the war hound than the one such a beast accompanied. Some of them watching the canine far too closely for the elf’s liking though he says nothing of the matter. None currently showed hostility or voiced any poorly hidden concerns, so there was no need to cause a scene.
<p>
Nothing was currently there that would disturb the dog as those eyes danced over all who looked upon him, a friendly visage held as Hades’ tongue flopped freely from loose lips. Only to pull within as attentions came to linger upon the back where the Charger’s seemed to have lain their claim within the building. Loud voices carrying from their usual perch and drawing not only the hound’s focus but the elf’s as well. Hesitance finding him for a moment before a path shifted with sparking thoughts, encouragement remembered from a time before to attempt speaking with the Qunari and his companions. And while it had been denied then there was no one else within that he wished to bother trying to communicate with.
<p>
Without giving himself a chance to rethink it, steps carry the ghost beneath the rise of stairs just behind the crackling fireplace. Attentions flickering over the few which found their rest here as the brindled hound followed after at a leisurely pace. Only for focus to turn fully upon the Iron Bull as his was the first voice to call out. An invitation falling against the air as a mug so often seen in his clutches was raised to the air. Though before Fenris can think to refuse the offer even now, a head bumped against him before Hades pulled away on his own venture. Taking up a spot nearest to Krem where he flopped to the floor, though eyes never left the elf as he slowly settled into a seat next to the Qunari.
<p>
One who is quick to talk and place that unknown drink before him with an insistence to give it a try, join in on the fun. Briefly eyes flickered in silent judgement of the man as a reluctant hold is found upon the tankard noticing the way the Qunari seemed to grin at the action. Pale gaze drifting away to study what lay within for but a moment as the he debated with none but himself on if he truly wished to take part in whatever this was. It was far different than what was preferred though a mind soon settled on at least humoring the other. Though not long after it glides over his tongue, a short cough finds him as the Charger’s drink of choice left rather unpleasant taste within his mouth and a feeling which seemed to burn more than his throat.
<p>
All in all it was rather strange but all which finds the elf is a passing grimace as the drink is quickly pawned off on one all too eager to take it for himself. Surprisingly gentle laughter finding the horned man as teasing tones soon chased after it as a grip found what was given. The substance handed over with no resistance before his own voice fell, <strong style=color:#732525>“Yes make your jokes. That drink is yours now.”</strong> For there was far from any plans to have the rest of it and without it he saw little reason to stick by the large man’s side. It was a spot better served for one that would actually find themselves taken with the other’s preferences at the time.
<p>
A marked hand rose in brief gesture toward the horned man before he shifted away. Moving to sit nearer to where the Mabari had settled, attentions resting on Krem for a moment as his own lyrics filled the air in light conversation. Distraction found with far more comfort around this single conversation as the mixed voices of the rest of the Charger’s filled the spaces not far off from where he sat now. The great hound that had rested near to the other man drifting nearer to Fenris’ side again with the steady drag of a body across the floor. Limbs splaying awkwardly into the would be path as a face flopped against the elf’s feet. Cropped ears turning between the two who spoke.

<center><i>26 Bloomingtide, 9:41</i></center><p>
Questions of why filtered through the elf’s mind as travel found him shifting through the rolling hills. For what purpose had he truly agreed to take this job other than to repress the boredom felt when kept within Skyhold’s walls. Perhaps it was simply that, the idea of it all. The chance to get away if only for a moment even if the task assigned to him ended up being a bust. Numbers were currently limited as so far and few seemed to stick around the fortress whenever the Inquisitor set off on one of her ventures. What would be one more wandering soul to them? The unwanted or unwilling were so readily left behind and as far as was known to the elf, he was both.
<p>
As was the Champion and yet that man had been dragged along with vain hopes that he would actually be of use to the group in the Western Approach. Or more likely based on the attitudes encountered not return from it. A short huff fell from the warrior as such thoughts crossed his mind. No matter the case the human was something the Inquisitor and her little friends would need to deal with on their own for the time. For while the ghost had wished to tag along with them, if only to linger at Hawke’s side, there had been reason to stay behind with insistence of recovery.
<p>
Such requests heeded as time was allowed in order to let everything settle. Though it was not something that would keep the lyrium marked grounded for long. Injury had long since been healed and there were no plans to remain trapped within the fortress walls because of it. There were things he wished to do to get away from all of this for a while. An act of desperation spurring the elf to seek out a duty while he could, one which had led him here into the reaches of those neighboring lands. The rise of sparsely placed building guiding a path onward as a mount’s steps shifted against the mixed earth as it slowly turned to makeshift pavement.
<p>
Though not many steps in a low hiss rumbled from the dracolisk’s chest as those paces were made to stop and a weight removed from its back. Soft phrases murmured for none but the beast as a hand came to run gently over the creature’s jagged shoulder, <strong style=color:#732525>“Be good alright? I won’t be long.”</strong> A growl resounded within the beast’s chest though nothing more came of it as a head shook and focus shifted to those few mounts it stood around now. Curiosity holding to the mountain drake just long enough not to protest being secured before the warrior moved away. And with the creature left behind his own feet shifted over the grounds as attentions drifted over the numerous faces that seemed to filter through the small town.
<p>
Some of those unknown figures lingering upon him for a moment before they too continued on their way, none of them seeming to be the few he sought. The job had sounded simple enough if not rather vague. A request made by those within this town for assistance in tracking down and hunting some of the local wildlife. Claiming that one would be sufficient to aid in their endeavors for this expedition, hints of others already being assigned to the task but due to troubles some of their own could not continue. Their apparent refusal to be more specific only sparking thoughts that whatever it was they were after took care of those missing few. And yet there was still interest found in the matter.
<p>
But first this supposed group needed to be found for there was little in way of direction given other than being harbored within Southmere. While it wasn’t much to go on gaze still shifted over those passed by, most focused upon their own business with none seemingly reading for a venture further into the Hinterlands. Not that the elf could blame them he supposed if the stories heard about this place and its abundant creature issues were to be believed. Though it is not long before attentions are drawn toward a particularly rowdy bunch that so openly carried their weapons like so many others. Yet something was different about the way they carried themselves.
<p>
Their decorated appearances standing out amongst the others here and yet there was lingering doubt that these were the ones he sought. An old pull felt from the shortest of the group as eyes lingered on them for longer than the warrior would care to admit before attentions are nearly forced to turn away. Judgement passed that these were not being he wished to interact with as marked fingers brushed slightly to the knife at his side before relaxing once more. A light sigh falling from his lips as paces worked to carry him past the small group in hopes that whoever he searched for lay beyond where these beings gathered.

<center><i>14 Bloomingtide, 9:41</i></center><p>
More time than intended had been spent on what should have been a simple search for a particular mage. A quest which only led the lyrium ghost to cross paths first with the elven Inquisitor. Such conversation lasting far longer than originally hoped yet it was an encounter which eased the warrior’s mind. For it gave promise that the human truly did stand somewhere within these walls it was merely a question of where now. Yet Hawke’s was apparently a presence that many did not desire in the end, an understandable mindset he supposed. As even from the short time he had been here conflicting views had become more than clear.
<p>
Information exchanged on both their parts as pieces of any of those burning questions were answered in hopes for where exactly the Champion roosted within these walls. Claims falling that he tended to stick to the battlements at the side of his hound or in Varric’s company when not tormenting any of the others who stayed here. So it was there the elf planned to search for the human first even as the hours only grew later and less faces stood out in the open beneath the starlit skies. Their eyes dancing upon him briefly while others spoke in hushed whispers that he could not make out, thoughts over it pushed from his mind as steps hurried past them.
<p>
Paces carrying him over this unfamiliar terrain as they led him to the smooth stone of the battlements. Bare feet brushing against those stairs as reflective stare shifted over those few that still lingered even upon these walls. Far fewer than what rested down below yet enough to draw his gaze. One which shifted over the various towers which littered the pathways before returning to those unknown to him. Near silent question reaching out to them only to have vague phrases point him away. Guidance given in a mix of disinterest and resentful tones as if this stranger had truly been inconvenienced by it all.
<p>
Yet direction was sought if only to prevent the warrior from accidentally intruding upon the wrong figure’s room. A misstep within these towers was not exactly how the ghost wished to make himself known. Feet shifted against the stone as attentions flickered between the broken down buildings that seemed ready to crumble to pieces just like so many other places of the fortress. Though while it was far from perfect he supposed that it was certainly better than nothing at all. Barrier provided from the threats which lay outside of it, for the most part at least. But such musing are cut short as sights fall upon the supposed lodgings of the human.
<p>
A hand pressing hesitantly to the door’s surface as olive gaze peered within the moment it creaked open. The figure of an oversized Mabari greeting him before the form of the mage could be found practically nestling beneath the dog as it crowded near to him. One which jumped to life at the sound of the shifting wood only to fall into excited wiggles that drew a displeased sound from the man a body beat against. At least until the canine jumped from his perch upon the bed and padded over to where the elf now stood. A door closing behind him as action stalled in the face of the behemoth.
<p>
That wet nose pressing against his hands only to quickly stray toward the aroma of lingering blood and herbal supplies which lay beneath the bandaging which covered him. Breath blowing against the fabrics as Hades sniffed along the elf’s side with a gentle whine even as an uninjured limb came to run over the Mabari’s crown. Rubbing briefly against the skin folding along the brindled creature’s neck before drawing away. Slender figure weaving around the concerned beast as attentions fell upon the mage who shifted to face him before he could even find a place upon the bed.
<p>
Golden eyes looking the elf over as he gingerly adjusted himself upon the edge of the bed though he was uncertain on how much the human could actually see within the dimly lit room. Though it does not silence the slow sigh which pushes from the lyrium ghost’s lungs as he leaned forward. Ivory hair falling to frame those angular features even as nothing else escapes him but that sigh. An uninjured arm bracing him as the other comes forward with reluctance yet still it is an action carried through. Hand resting against the human’s jaw before pulling away, fingers trailing against his features only to fall away as lyrics rise to break the silence. <strong style=color:#732525>“It is good to see you Hawke.”</strong>
